"Birth is not only about making babies. Birth is about making mothers; strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength." -Barbara Katz

"Amy helped me and my husband to care for my twins and myself when we came home from the hospital. She anticipated our family's needs, which aided in my recovery tremendously. She constantly looked for ways to make our lives easier, which was tricky with a two-year-old and twins. We love her like family. She has a wonderful disposition. Coming home with a newborn (or two) is very stressful, but Amy kept us calm and joyful. We thought we knew a lot about newborns, babies and toddlers; however, Amy could always provide bits of knowledge that supported each one of us with love and concern. Our oldest daughter still asks when Amy will visit, and she does, for which we are thankful." - Valerie Geller

“Amy was amazing! Being a first-time mom comes with its share of ups and downs. With our closest family members living over an hour away, once my husband went back to work, I was on my own with my brand new baby boy. Amy was there to guide me through all of the situations that you go through as a new mom. I trusted Amy from the day I met her. I was so comfortable with her in my home and with my son. She answered my questions, offered advice when I needed it, and gave me the confidence to trust my instincts. She always had a way of saying just the right thing to make me feel comfortable in my new role as a mother. She would offer suggestions while always empowering me to do what I felt was best for my baby. Amy was there to make sure that I was taken care of, so that I could focus on being a strong mother to my son. I cherish the time Amy spent with us and cannot thank her enough for all of her help and guidance!” - Mandy DeCamp

"Amy was extremely calm and nurturing in a time that is very stressful. While many mothers want to give up breastfeeding, Amy showed me how to stick with it. She was honest and patient as she responded to the numerous, detailed questions we had regarding our baby.” - Kristen Murcko

“Amy’s ability to care for our baby while at the same time, nurturing my wife and building her confidence was extremely valuable. I’m not sure how she could have been any more helpful except by baking more cookies!” - Trevor Murcko

"I highly recommend Amy. She is caring, supportive and knowledgeable in helping new mothers learn how to breastfeed. I was lucky, as my daughter latched at the hospital, but I was insecure and unsure if it was the right way. Amy was there when I came home from the hospital to help increase my confidence. She answered all my new parent questions and eased my worries and fears. When she was a few weeks old, I starting having some problems breastfeeding Madaleine. Amy’s suggestions helped her become less fussy, spit up less and eat longer. Having a point person to ask random questions has been quite the lifesaver. I couldn't recommend her any more.” - Kristen Barefield

“Not only is Amy an expert on all things baby, but she is an absolute joy to work with! My husband and I had the pleasure of attending one of Amy's Childbirth classes, as well as working with her postpartum. As a planner, I always want to feel that I am in the know. However, as a first time parent, there are so many unknowns. Amy's class was an excellent resource in better preparing us for all of the unexpected adventures that were to come with a newborn. Because of Amy, I felt that my husband and I could enter the delivery room, and parenthood, with the knowledge to tackle the unknown. She is passionate about what she does, and her willingness to help us has been absolutely amazing. I fully trust her with anything relating to our little guy. It is such a comfort to know that any problems we face, Amy is right there with the know-how to fix it. I really could not say enough good things about her! Her advice, support and guidance has been absolutely invaluable in making this thing called parenthood a smooth transition for us." - Danae Behr

"Amy was brought into my life through the childbirth class that she teaches at The Mother's Nest. I had many people tell me that classes were not necessary and that I would be fine. I went with my gut and took the class anyway and let me just say it was one of the best decisions of my LIFE! The knowledge that I gained got me through one of the hardest and most amazing experiences of my life! Amy was born to do this! Her passion and love shone through every time I attended class. She is patient, kind, and answered all of my questions. She presents her information in a way that is informative, caring and immediately makes you feel immense trust. Her extremely nonjudgmental manner makes you feel comforted immediately. Amy's devotion to her work and her clients goes BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY! She makes your feel like a family member. I highly recommend Amy to anyone who is going to be a parent - first time or otherwise.” - Amber Alfman

"We had the pleasure of working with Amy as we expected our first child. Amy was incredibly thorough during her class, and was also available to answer all of the questions I had afterwards. My birth did not go as expected, however, Amy prepared me for all of the possibilities during our class, so although things didn't go as planned, I was able to stay calm because I knew what was happening. Thanks to Amy's knowledge, support, and encouragement I felt safe and confident during the entire childbirth process. My husband and I are incredibly grateful to Amy for helping us bring our perfect little girl into the world.” - Breinn Buehner

"We took Amy's birthing class last year and to say it was amazing is an understatement. This class fully prepares you for the birthing adventure and you graduate the class knowing everything that can potentially come your way. I was so deathly afraid of giving birth. Looking back I know now that it was because I had no idea what to except. I 100% would recommend any new mom/parents take this class. Even if you have given birth before and had a bad experience, maybe start over by taking Amy's class." - Ariel Myers

"We are so thankful to have taken the Amy's Confident Childbirth class. Amy's practical teaching (along with a little humor) came in handy during those hours of laboring at home. She, and the class in general, encouraged me to trust in my body and in myself to labor and birth naturally. I went on to have an amazing and unmedicated birth - a beautiful 8lb, 15oz baby boy! The class was so hands-on, fun and practical. It will give you the tools you need to help you prepare for your birth. A MUST for any first time Mama-To-Be that is looking to birth naturally, or maybe a 2nd or 3rd time Mama that wants a brighter birth experience." - Amanda and Stephen Bucklew

"Amy’s class exceeded our expectations! We felt very prepared when our baby was ready to come. We have used many of the techniques she taught us during our delivery and when caring for our newborn. We recommend this course to everyone who is beginning their journey into parenthood!" - Liz and Adam King

"When preparing for the birth of our first child I am so thankful that we found Amy's super-informative class. She left lots of time for questions and put us at ease regarding the whole process from visiting the hospital and prepping the hospital bag all the way to postpartum and newborn care. I have recommended it to friends." - Desirae Lenzer

"As an expectant first time father, I was somewhat skeptical of the need for birthing classes. I thought, having a baby just happens, it will be what it will be and whatever it is it will be fine. My wife had other ideas and she convinced me that we needed to take a birthing class. We did take the class and after having our baby, Emily, I can say emphatically that she was right... as she often is.

We chose Amy's in-home option and were very pleased with every aspect of the experience, including the price.

My wife and I are both educators and one of the things that we find most remarkable about Amy is her teaching skill. She possesses a wealth of knowledge about the birthing process and is able to communicate that knowledge effectively and cooperatively. She is straightforward and honest about all the potentialities that might arise during the process. She gears her lessons towards empowering parents with the knowledge to make their birthing experience exactly what they want it to be. As my wife and I had chosen a hospital birth, Amy taught us all the things to be aware of about birthing in that setting. She taught us what questions to ask, how to ask them, what interventions may be necessary, and how to effectively convey our desires to the hospital staff. After having taken her classes, when the time came to deliver, I felt completely empowered and in control of the situation the entire time. My wife and I could not have been happier with our birthing experience and Amy's guidance played a significant role in making that happen.

We found Amy to be extraordinarily personable; and from the very beginning I felt as though she was personally invested in helping us become successful parents. After just a couple sessions I felt as though she was on this journey with us, like a member of the family. After our delivery, she was one of the first people we called to share the news. She is always open to phone calls and further consultation. I would recommend Amy to any parent wanting to make their birthing process the best that it can be." - Carrie VanMeter & Robert Mast

"My husband and I used Amy's expertise for prenatal classes and birth doula services. I am so happy we found Amy early on, as she was both a complete and a personal source for information and support. Amy thoroughly prepared us for labor, delivery, and postpartum experiences. When I went into labor early at 36 weeks I was so fortunate to have Amy nearby, as both my husband and my mother were out of town. As my husband drove all night to make it to the hospital in time, I was able to stay confident, and was never worried or lonely, because I knew I had Amy.

While our midwife and delivery nurses were wonderful, they changed shifts several times during the labor. Amy's constant support made us feel confident and in control. I was able to deliver naturally and drug free and I know that I would not have been able to do so without Amy's advocacy and support. Choosing her as our doula was the best prenatal decision I made and I am certain it is why we had such a calm and positive experience." - Rachel Collard

"My husband, Pat, and I worked with Amy while preparing for our first baby. Amy came highly recommended by our OB, Dr. Kiko. I think my biggest take away, besides knowing we had a well-educated and calm advocate on the day of our delivery, was that I was in control of my birth story... Amy was flexible by coming to our home for classes around my husband's work schedule, and customized her teachings to our needs. She was always prompt, prepared, engaging, and supportive. She was available anytime we needed via phone calls, emails, or texts. Her services go above and beyond, and I am very thankful to have partnered with her to help us welcome our sweet Emersyn Louise as we look forward to celebrating her first birthday." - Jennifer Harrison
